Hotel Focus, May 2015 – The Grove, London UK

I had the absolute privilege of spending time in my favourite country this past spring.  My husband and I travelled to London UK, his first trip!  Boy, was he ever spoiled!

We spent the first 2 nights at the beautiful Grove Resort, just outside of London in Hertfordshire.   This is a gorgeous getaway for both Londoners and for foreigners alike.  Set on 300 acres, guests can enjoy beautiful grounds, top notch golf and very spacious guest rooms.  If you can get your folks out of central London, this is the hotel to visit:

Leanne’s noteables:

  • Afternoon Tea – as an afternoon tea snob, I had high expectations.  I’m pleased to say this experience was my absolute favourite of all time!!  Cozy couches in a living room settings, pristine presentation of the tea, cups and strainers, and decadent sandwiches, scones and desserts.  The Ritz and Savoy better take notice!
  • Beautiful grounds – Shaun and I walked and ran around the grounds, beside charming canals and locks.  Watch for the occasional poison ivy leaf, nothing some mild soap won’t fix J
  • Hallway tables – yes, hallway tables.  They have clear acrylic tables scattered throughout the hotel, all showcasing something whimsical and fun – rubber duckies, a farm scene, toy airplanes, lilac branches, wheat bushels, etc.  The hotel was a tour in and of itself!
  • Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour – thinking of heading out to Harry Potter?  This is the hotel that is closest!!!!  Make a night of it!
